The Tile Roofing Industry Alliance (TRI) is pleased to announce the issuance of our new updated CONCRETE AND CLAY ROOF TILE INSTALLATION MANUAL, dated March 2024 that carries the IAPMO code approval Uniform ES-ER-2015. The new manual provides updated color drawings and the latest ASCE-7-16 and ASCE 7-22 wind uplift design criteria to be compliant with the latest IRC/IBC and CBC code requirements.
The manual is free to download and is recognized by our member companies as their manufacturing installation guides. Please check with your tile manufacturer for any additional information on specific installations.
The previous 2015 version continues to be recognized in our formal IAPMO code approval ES-ER-2015, as it provides design language required for projects complying with ASCE-7-05 and ASCE-7-10.
A special view portal can be found by clicking here.
We will be creating an online “Print On Demand” in the near future for those wishing to obtain a hard copy of the manual.

The Tile Roofing Industry Alliance (TRI) in partnership with the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Contractors Association, Inc. (FRSA) have been working together for over two decades on the development of installation manuals that represent proper installation practices, industry standards and the latest code requirements of roof tiles for the Florida market.
It was the consensus of a joint committee that we should re-write this manual in a way that addresses the latest wind codes, eliminates system designations, recognizes the latest products, reduces redundancy, adds drawings and paints a clear picture that provides clarity for contractors and inspectors regarding which products and processes are acceptable in the High Wind regions. The committee also adopted the recommendations of several premium upgraded products and enhanced installation practices to improve the long-term performance of tile roofing systems. The culmination of the committee’s efforts led to the creation of this 7th Edition Florida High Wind Concrete and Clay Tile Installation Manual for High Wind Applications in Florida.
Printed copies can be ordered for $25 each. The .pdf download is free.
TRI Alliance and WSRCA technical committees, along with valuable input from the roofing community, revised the previous 2010 edition of this manual to create the 2015 edition. TRI Alliance and WSRCA submitted this manual for formal review and issuance of an IAPMO Uniform ES Evaluation Report (ER-2015) to help provide a stronger foundation to formal practices and recommendations included.
